How does it work?

Photofacial is a laser light treatment that targets pigment issues, such as brown spots, sun damage and red spots, and redness.

Benefits are:

  • Lightens brown spots and reduces redness

Prior to treatment:

  • Avoid direct sunlight, spray tans, and tanning lotions for a minimum of 2 weeks.
  • No photosensitive medications for 7 days prior to treatment.
  • No Accutane for at least 6 months prior to your appointment.
  • We cannot treat pregnant or nursing women.

During treatment:

Skin may feel hot during treatment.

Post treatment:

  • Redness and swelling are expected following photo facials and will resolve over time.
  • Ice packs can alleviate any discomfort.
  • Avoid sun exposure for a minimum of 7 days post treatment. Use sunscreen consistently for at least 2 weeks.
  • Wash area with a gentle cleanser and avoid scratchy exfoliants until completely healed.
  • You may wear makeup immediately if skin tolerates it.
  • Reds may look brighter before they fade. Browns may look darker and more obvious (similar to a coffee ground appearance). This is normal and expected, DO NOT pick or scrub these areas.
  • If treating the neck, chest or arms, healing time can take much longer.

Maintenance:

For maximum results, recommend 3 treatments over Winter months.
