Why Fillers?

Juvéderm® is a collection of unique hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers that temporarily add volume for different needs in seven different areas of the face. Each one adds volume and is designed for different needs in different areas of the face including lips, cheeks, or chin. How does it work? It temporarily restores your skin’s volume with a modified form of hyaluronic acid.

Common Juvéderm® treatment areas include:

  • Nasolabial folds (also called marionette lines or parentheses): Fills in lines between the nose and corners of the mouth.
  • Nasogenian grooves: Volumizes folds between the nose and cheeks.
  • Lips: For volume enhancement.
  • Cheeks: Reshapes and lifts the contours of the cheeks.

Filler Preparation

  • Please review any contraindications for derma fillers prior to scheduling your appointment.
  • No active infections in the treatment area.
  • Derma fillers are not recommended while pregnant or nursing.
  • Avoid any type of vaccinations for 4 weeks, pre or post derma filler injections.
  • Avoid any type of dental work (including cleanings) for 2 weeks, pre or post derma filler injections.

Filler Post Care

  • Gently apply ice on areas injected for 5 to 10 minutes at a time every few hours for the first and second day. Then apply moist heat twice a day for the next 2 days.
  • Swelling, redness, firmness, itching, and tenderness may be present for up to two weeks. Use ice packs as needed.
  • Lumps, bumps, or asymmetrical areas may be noted. It is normal to feel for these lumps and bumps, however they should not be visible. It can take up to two weeks for swelling and bruising to subside.
  • Results may be immediate, but its best effects are seen after swelling has resolved.
  • Do NOT exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
    Make-up may be applied immediately after treatment.
  • Tylenol (Acetaminophen) may be used as directed on bottle for any discomfort after injection.
  • The use of Arnica Montana (Available at Sedo Laser) may help with bruising. Follow instructions on bottle.
  • Avoid any type of vaccinations for 4 weeks, pre or post derma filler injections.
  • Avoid any type of dental work (including cleanings) for 2 weeks, pre or post derma filler injections.
  • If additional filler is desired in an area of previous treatment, your provider may ask you to wait until 2 weeks has passed.
  • Periodic touch ups will help sustain the desired level of correction.
